Warning Description: Special Statement

Warning Date: 1:15 PM PST on February 6, 2012

WarningSum:...Wet Weather Returns To Southwestern California Tuesday Afternoon
And Tuesday Evening...

Warning Message:A Pacific weather system will move into southwestern California
Tuesday afternoon and evening...bringing periods of light
precipitation to the region. Periods of light rain will begin
around midday across coastal Orange County and the northern
areas...before spreading south and east during the afternoon and
early evening. Most of the rainfall will be light to moderate...with
precipitation amounts remaining primarily less than a quarter
inch in most areas from the mountains west to the coast. The
deserts will receive only a few hundredths.
The snow level will be around 6000 feet. Some locations in the San
Bernardino and Riverside County mountains could receive up to three
inches of new snowfall.
Roadways could be slippery...especially during the onset of the
rain and during the afternoon rush hour due to oil buildup on the
roads...as it will have been more than two weeks since the last
rain. Snowfall in the mountains may cause slippery roadways
above 6000 feet.
Although a few showers will linger across San Diego County on
Wednesday morning...drier conditions will develop by the
afternoon and continue through the remainder of the week.
